China to raise export tariffs on ferrochrome & pig iron from Aug 1

According to the announcement from China’s Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, in order to promote the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of the steel industry in China, the export tariffs on ferrochrome and pig iron will be raised from August 1, 2021.

The export tariffs on ferrochrome, under HS codes 72024100 and 72024900, will be increased to 40%, and the rate on pig iron, under HS code 72011000, will be up to 20%.
